This stackable washer dryer set is good for my limited space. I have only had it a few days and still have much to learn. I have read both manuals and some questions are still unanswered. The dryer has no buzzer to signal the end of cycle, it seems the dryer cycles are very long and the water level in the washer concerns me and there is no way of adjusting that.

I purchased this machine this month. It so far washes & dries well. Holds more in the washer than you would expect, comfortably. Washer is EXTREMELY loud, other reviewers weren't kidding about the loudness. So much for list of features: "quiet package". Must be just in the dryer because it is fairly quiet, so quiet, it needs a BUZZER to let you know it has finished. Be aware, there is NO end of cycle on the washer OR dryer. I called GE about it, one of their reps told me to go to a store & buy a timer, seriously? There are NO Wi-Fi capabilities, so you can't monitor the dryer there. There is NO dryer light. The dryer vent on door is a terrible design. No gasket or seal whatsoever behind the metal screen,(with sharp edges to boot). Be prepared to clean your vent system frequently. Lint flies everywhere if your not careful. If you are converting to propane, it is very expensive, check cost in your area first. Just the conversion kit alone from GE is over $100 to start with(2 jets & some stickers). Washer lid is curved, so it does not open all the way, have no idea why they would do that. The Owner's manual is a joke, very unclear which model has what feature. If I had to buy this again, I would NOT. FYI only the larger size with E-dry have a buzzer & Wi-Fi. You cannot, according to GE, add Wi-Fi or a buzzer to this model. Quality has gone down, down. Sad, angry and dissappointed. If it had a BUZZER, I would have given it a higher rating. That really bothers me, having to take out wrinkles with the "dewrinkle" setting. It is so not very effective, have to add a damp cloth to make it work and NO BUZZER for the dewrinkle cycle either, kinda defeats the purpose. The cost with so many issues, just not worth purchasing this brand or this model. I would have bought a different brand if I could do this all over again. My husband & I can't afford to, we are 70 & 80yrs old.

Dryer not producing heat!

My washer/dryer was installed on 6/12; when it was installed, the technician tested it and it worked. I did not have the opportunity to use it again until 7/6 and the dryer did not produce any heat. I have a repair scheduled for 7/24. Not a good start.

Unit works as expected. Little loud compared to our previous side by side machines. Still ok. First 5 loads ran fine. 6th load washer lost power. Checked the breaker, not tripping. Unplugged unit for a few minutes and plugged back in, fixed, not sure why. Hopefully won't happen again. Dryer door handle popped out. Easy to "pop" back in. Hope it's not a future replacement thing. While this brand is GE, they haven't manufactured appliances for years. Hopefully this unit will last.

Absolute garbage. The first unit lasted less than two years before the motherboard failed. I ordered a replacement, and it arrived defective out of the box. Two major issues in a row have completely eroded my confidence in GE appliances. Save yourself the hassle and buy something else.

I purchased this stacked washer/dryer unit a little over seven months ago. It is the only unit on the market small enough to fit in my laundry closet. Although I've ultimately figured out how to make this appliance work for me, I have a number of complaints about it and GE. I wish I had more space in my home to accommodate a larger, better designed, and higher quality washer/dryer. 1. Lousy product quality. A faulty unit was sold to me by Homewise Appliance (previously known as Airport Home Appliance). The dryer's gas valve was broken, so I needed to utilize my warranty to get it repaired immediately following the purchase. I had considered exchanging the faulty unit for a new, functional one, and the delivery staff brought a unit with visible dents on it. I declined that delivery. The service technician who ultimately replaced the dryer gas valve told me that these newer washer/dryer units are poorly made, and he doesn't expect that it will last more than five years. FIVE YEARS?! My old Whirlpool washer/dryer provided nearly 20 years of reliable service before calling it quits. Shame on you, GE. It doesn't bode well when technicians who service your appliances have no faith in the quality of your products, and propagate their experience and opinions to recent purchasers of a GE appliance. 2. No sound indicators. Neither the washer nor dryer make a clear sound or indication when the cycle is done. The washer makes a couple odd clicking sounds, but otherwise, they just stop. I'd like for there to be a clear sound indication that the cycle is complete. Also, if the washer is imbalanced, it just stops and does not proceed to the spin cycle. There is no sound indication. Your laundry just sits there in a pool of water until you discover that no movement has occurred, and that you have to manually readjust your sopping clothes so that they are better balanced before resuming the cycle. 3. ...is the washer really cleaning my clothes? Several times, I have pulled clothes out of the washer following a cycle, only to find dry patches on some garments, as if water never made contact with some parts of some clothes. This seems to happen when I do a full load of laundry, so have avoided the issue by not filling the washer up with clothes all the way. 4. Funky dryer knob. Unlike the washer knob, the dryer knob does not clearly click into place when choosing a cycle. So then I wind up uncertain of whether the dryer is operating at my intended cycle. 5. Lint EVERYWHERE. This is the first dryer I have used in which the lint trap is on the inside of the dryer door. It doesn't work effectively. When opening the dryer door at the end of a cycle, lint spews out onto the clothes, washer, and floor. With this appliance, I must build in post-laundry vacuuming time to clean up the lint mess the dryer makes. I have to wonder whether the people who designed this dryer have ever actually done a load of laundry with this appliance.

This is about the only W/D combo that fits our tiny laundry closet so we didn't have a lot of options. It worked fine until just a couple months after the 1-year warranty ran out. Now the gas valve coils are burning out every few weeks. We've deep cleaned and shortened the duct run and spent about $500 on repairman visits with no improvement/resolution, plus ~$18 per new set of coils every few weeks. So now I'm desperately trying to find a different brand/model that will work for us because I'm just pretty fed up with dealing with it losing heat. If it's all you can get, hopefully you'll have better luck than we did.

I purchased this unit from Dormont Appliances in Pittsburgh PA. The first delivery, the unit had a huge dent in dryer and service said it wasn™€™t repairable. The 2nd unit was delivered and the dryer didn™€™t work. The 3rd unit was delivered and the dryer did not work again. I was told my gas line didn™€™t have enough pressure. Called the gas company and there wasn™€™t a problem. Hired a plumber to check this out and $440 later, again no issue. Service came out and discovered that a plug within the motherboard wasn™€™t connected during installation. Once connected it finally work. Dormont Appliance was uncooperative when I requested reimbursement on the plumber and also told me that GE wasn™€™t going to offer any compensation either. I™€™m very disappointed in this machine, given over the past 25 years I had used this same model with no problems.

We own this before so were aware of its capability however this unit arrived with the lint filter defective - it had metal pieces sticking out at the ends which were sharp enough to cut you finger - we called the GE number and asked for customer service to report this but your stupid AI phone system refused to accept the complaint and hung up multiple times on us without transferring us to live agent who could better assist us - also your review page does not let us add photos to prove this either and asks for a nickname - why on earth do you need a nickname and then makes us create one because yours may have been taken so you may want to check the review page also as it seems this review page is more of a joke

Off Balance Issue

Washer went off balance on an item I never had a problem with. Instructions say to set on Drain and Spin, but instead of draining and spinning it fills with water again and cannot drain. This happened with another item I washed. First time it did the same thing. Second time I washed it, no problem. Had to pull out the heavy water weight item and drip dry it for two days over buckets before I could put it in the dryer. Customer Service useless; could not help and reluctant to send over a technician.

Biggest piece of junk. Washer only fills a few inches, no matter the size of the load. Dryer takes 3 cycles to dry a load, and tonite the house filled with a burning smell from the dryer. Do not recommend.

This appliance is serviceable. It washes my clothes, but I™€™m not overjoyed with it. The wash cycles for ™€œcolors™€ and ™€œwhites™€ allow you a choice of heavy, medium, or light. I assume that means the size of the load but it could mean the density of the clothes in the load. Nothing in the instructions speaks to this so I™€™m guessing. The ™€œdelicate™€, ™€œcasuals™€, and ™€œbulky items™€ cycles give you no choices at all. Sometimes, during the spin the agitator bangs against the sides of the body very loudly. This usually means you need to readjust the clothes inside. But the lid is locked so you can™€™t. You just hope nothing breaks. The capacity is fine but I ve found smaller loads to work best. The dimensions are the reason I purchased this machine. It washes the only one with a gas dryer that would fit in the space I have for it.

Washer has never worked. Repair came out said electrical was fried and replaced sone parts. Said the motor needed to be changed but we could use it until the replacement came back. Water cones on for a couple seconds then stops. VERY dissatisfied. You need to replace the unit for us.

I was pleasantly surprised at the capacity in the washer. It holds much more, without crowding, than I had expected. It also offers many cycles to choose from. The noise level is fine, it™€™s only loud momentarily when it changes cycles. Mine is in the kitchen & doesn™€™t impact any conversations, tv or radio listening. Dryer heats well & thick towels are dried relatively quickly. Its compact size fits seamlessly along the kitchen cabinets. We™€™re very happy with the washer dryer combo, couldn™€™t live without it now!

Washer is small. Only seems to really clean when on heavy duty cycle which is annoying. Obnoxiously loud. Definitely wouldn't buy it again

A "Lemon" Multiple Repairs, No Resolution

I am writing this review out of sheer frustration with a brand-new GE washer and dryer set. I purchased these appliances with the expectation of a reliable product, but what I received has been nothing short of a "lemon" from the beginning. Within a few weeks of delivery, the washer began to malfunction. We have had multiple service calls for the exact same issue, yet the problem persists. The same technician has been out to our home repeatedly, replacing parts, but the machine continues to fail. The dryer has now started to show similar issues, adding to our daily stress. Despite the fact that both machines are still under their one-year warranty, GE has offered no real solution. Each call results in another scheduled repair, with no option for a replacement or a return. It's an endless, frustrating cycle of scheduling service, taking time off work for a technician, and still having a non-functional appliance. It is unacceptable that a brand-new product, clearly defective from the start, cannot be exchanged for a working unit. I have a useless set of appliances sitting in my home, and GE's customer service has been unhelpful in providing any recourse other than more failed repairs. I cannot recommend this product or this company to anyone looking for a reliable laundry solution.

Stackable washer and dryer was delivered and installed 2 months after purchase because we had to wait fir the LP kit and then first delivery attempt failed cause unit was damaged and finally delivered and installed and defective

Noisy and too much automation

The washer is very noisy and fills up water automatically. The dryer unless you set to extra dry the clothing remain damp.

This is a pretty good product and the only affordable option that will fit in our home the last one died after almost 7 years. That™€™s not a long enough life to get 5 stars, but overall the product works well and what choice do we have. If this one doesn™€™t last longer well buy a more expensive 2 in 1 unit from a more well made company.

Extremely noisy!! Brochure said it had quiet operation, not true! Also a 30 minuite spin cycle for a small load, a few pieces. I do not recommend!

Be Better

I had to replace mine due to unburnt fuel in the dryer. I was told that these units fail a lot from the Consumers Energy gas technician, but it was the only unit available for the size of my laundry space. I bought a new one. That brand-new unit failed in 3 days. I had to return it and purchase another. Hopefully the one I bought from Costco holds up better. However not impressed. Another manufacturer has an opportunity to make a competitive model in this same size. I didn't like that I only had one option.

Many pros, one con

I've been using my stackable washer/dryer for 8 months and highly recommend it. Everything has worked fine, the capacity is adequate (2 people in the household), there are numerous cycle options, it washes and dries well (gas dryer), and its size and stackable design make it a perfect choice for the small space I have for a washer/dryer. The only potential negative for a buyer is that it's noisy. I don't really mind since it's in a location where it doesn't interfere with conversation or sleep, but the sounds it makes can be disconcerting. After I started using it, I called the shop where I bought it to ask if there might be something wrong, but they assured me the sounds are normal. As long as you're not installing it in or near a bedroom or other quiet space, it's a great space-saving machine to accommodate doing laundry at home.

Horrible Unit, Horrible Experience

I would leave zero stars if I could. I purchased a stackable washer & dryer unit for a newly built in-law apartment late April. On 6/18, we had our 1st repair after the machine turned on by itself & flooded the place, damaging new flooring. The tech replaced the motherboard. On 7/1 we had the tech back because, yet again, the washer turned on by itself. This time the tech noticed something with the sensor that he fixed. He hoped that would fix the issue because he was out of repair ideas. DAYS LATER, the unit turned on again at 1am! I was pleasant for the 1st call, the 2nd time I scheduled online & kept my fingers crossed, 3rd time I called before the tech came out so I could discuss our options & was pleasant. By the 4th call my patience was gone. I talked with a different rep every time & a ™€œsupervisor.™€ The 4th call took over an hour of my time while going around & around wanting this unit gone. I had every right to be upset & being told ™€œI understand but™€ or to calm down was unacceptable. I was a high-end retail manager for over 30 years. I understand policies, but I also know that a customer having 3 service calls in less than a month on a new unit & for the same problem received a defective product & should be treated accordingly. To be told by your ™€œcustomer service™€ that the unit was working & we did not qualify for a replacement even though the tech came & saw the water flooding just hours before & told us it was non-repairable is ridiculous. Then when I ask for the manager above the supervisor, to be told that the buck stops with the supervisor in the world of GE is asinine. In no corporate world does the buck stop at the supervisor. I am still waiting for the situation to be rectified to my satisfaction. If you™€™re thinking of buying a GE laundry center, DON™€™T! GE needs to rethink customer service and stand behind their products. No customer should have to jump through these many hoops and be this upset! I plan on telling everyone about this experience.

Worst appliance and Service

It was bought in February 2024 and been used since August 2024. Since the first use the dryer was broken, luckly have it fixed in 1-2 weeks. After a month the dryer broke again and this time took 1-2 months to fix it and 3-4 tech visits. GE™€™s third party repair partner Bodewell is horrible and has some unprofessional and unskilled technicians. When a service is scheduled they don™€™t give a narrow time range either which is causing you to take off the whole day, I don™€™t know how many days I have taken off because of this appliance in less than a year. It™€™s July now and this time the washer is broken. They don™€™t offer replacement or trade-in unless the tech is unable to repair it so, I have to deal with this every few months. The appliance been used responsibly 1-2 times every week, never overloaded etc. The only good thing is that it is a good product for small spaces.

Lid Lock Safety Feature Failure

My install date was 4/24/25 and my first service call was placed one week later on 5/1/25. The issue was the lid locked light was blinking and would not go out. The first service call they tried to replace the lid switch and then had to order a new motherboard on 5/7/25. The tech is scheduled to return today 5/21/25 to hopefully resolve the issue

Great performance

I've had this machine for two weeks, washed and dried about 20 loads. Some were small, medium, heavy and speed wash and I don't have any complaints. The clothes come out clean, the dryer works great, no extra drying time. I washed bed linen, bath towels, heavy carpenter jeans, long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts, whites and everything else. I needed a small machine to fit a very small space and this one fit. I was considering a same size unit unit with a 1.6 cubit washer but a local appliance store showed me this one a 2.3 cubit and I'm very satisfied with it. Some reviewers said it makes a lot of noise, the only available location for me is in the middle of my house. If I had a full size washer and dryer in the same location I'm certain they would be much louder. No complaint, great performance and good load capacity. Remember to pull down the back feet so they will self level the machine.
