The unit is designed poorly. It does not lie flat against the counter when it is closed; it needs to have a lip to cover the gap between the top of the unit and the counter . However, the fan does work well.

The product works fine, but the installation was difficult. Apparently, even though the dimensions of this product were listed as the same length as the same model previously installed, the newer model is actually longer than the older model. Our installer was able to make modifications to get it done, but the vent length is longer than the same collection's induction cooktop. Not happy at all with a $1200+ product that does not fit and looks terrible.

Love this downdraft unit. Only issue is the newer model could. It be vented with my GE gas cooktop so I had to pay extra for a venting specialist

This model was purchased to replace another ge downdraft vent. This model does not flush evenly with the counter top as it has a rubber piece that it rests on when not in use as opposed to metal in the previous model. It did not come with a control pad as the other one did but instead there is a button on the top that turns it on and a knob on the side that adjusts the van. Overall, it is not aesthetically pleasing as the other model. GE appears to have cut corners with this one.

this is our second Downdraft System we have purchased through GE. the last one lasted 22 years and frankly could have kept going if it wasn't for the fact that my wife wanted to change to an all chrome look. I will say that it was not the easiest install though and required some professional expertise in retrofitting the removal and installing of the new one.

We had an older version of this downdraft for over 15 years. We had some problems with the old one relating to the button and also the fan control lever. We are very happy with the improvements made on both the button that raises and lowers the unit. It also seems that the fan is more powerful and more effective. We are very happy with the unit and that it fit to replace our old one.

I spent around $1500 for this product and to have it installed. The brackets to support the unit don't even make sense, the bottom on the top of the unit is crooked, the stainless steel scratches and itsn't fastened down all the way...it's the worst quality appliance I've ever seen in my life.

From a physics position, a downdraft is inefficient as heat and cooking gas rises. This downdraft is further inefficient as it only extends up 6 inches causing less elimination of the waste. My other downdraft would extend up at least a foot.
