It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Nice oven with a couple quirks

Scshopper 7/5/2026

We have had this a couple of weeks to replace basically the same downdraft oven we bought about 10 years ago. The old unit died when one of the control boards failed and Jenn air no longer made the replacement parts. The new unit works great including air fryer function. The other surprise the risers under the stove top knobs are gold, not our favorite look. Hopefully reliability will be better this time if you have to have a downdraft option

Design is a headscratch. Lots of open spaces for food and spills to get into the stove. Stamped parts to the stove don't line up with the flashing i ordered to complete fit, especially where screws are holding the stove together. Rounded back makes complete flashing impossible. Poor design :(

Replacement for older Jennair

John89 3/7/2026

I think the downdraft worked better on the old model. Not sure why they completely changed it. Especially when it required a hole location in the floor, as well as redoing the ductwork.

1week and 1/2 withe the new range and so far good except for 1 glitch. Two times after shutting the oven off it kept running for several hours and nothing I did worked except turning off the breaker. Hopefully is a simple fix if it continues to happen.

Replaced a 30 year old JennAir Downdraft Range

Feeb 2/23/2026

We bought our JennAir 30" Electric Downdraft range last November after the oven element went out on our 30+ year old JennAir downdraft range. If you are replacing an older JennAir, be aware that the downdraft is in a different location from the old unit and the electrical wiring is slightly different. The new range has taken some getting used to with its glass top and very large oven capacity. The oven is close to twice the volumne of our old range and takes a bit longer to preheat. I am amazed at how much I can cook in the oven. Only issue we have had with it is the convection/air fry fan didn't work on the new unit. JennAir replaced it without issue. Not only did JennAir give us great customer service but the appliance show room where we bought it and the JennAir service team were all amazing. Using a glass top range has been an adjustment for us. I was afraid of the glass top at first. We do a lot of canning and processing of fruit, vegetables, wild game and fish so the weight limit was concerning as I feared we might break it. Although we do not plan to use the range for heavy water bath canning or pressure canning, we have used it for everything else and it has functioned beautifully. The fact that it is so easy to clean is a huge bonus too. Bottom line is that we absolutely love our new range. It was more money than we wanted to spend but we had to have a downdraft range and this is by far the best choice for that. We would definitely purchase it again. If it last as long as our last JennAir, we won't have to buy another range for a very long time!

Some changes

Aunt Dee 2/13/2026

I replaced my 19 year old Jenn Air recently. Have loved the Jenn Air brand. The new one lacks some of the original features and I kinda miss them. For example, there were 2 timers on my first one. Helpful if you have 2 different things baking and their times varied. I like the burners on the new one, but why does the control panel need to be flat? I accidentally turn things on all the time. I will get used to it, but gees. It bakes well, have not tried the convection and don't plan to try the air fryer.

Not as thoughtfully made as my previous Jenn Air r

Hungry chef who misses my 2/12/2026

We needed to buy a downdraft as we would have had to spend a lot more to remodel to put in a hood. The dials and controls on top are inconvenient. It made the top surface smaller and they get in the way. The dial shape id harder to grasp, especially if your hands are not dry and they are not a good shape. The lettering for low and high are too small and the dual control is the opposite on low and high than the other three? Why? The fan is noiser than the old version and not as powerful. Since the controls are on the top and not the front, you can™€™t quickly see the time when you are in the kitchen. There is only one red indicator for a hot surface burner, before each burner had its own hot indicator light why did that get downsized? There is no proofing choice for baking specialty. The oven is nice and large and it holds temperature well, the burners work like they should . There were two timers before, now there is only one. If I didn™€™t need to buy a downdraft range, I would not have purchased this range. It wish I could have been able to fix my old Jenn Air oven , but after 18 years it wasn™€™t possible. Jenn Air didn™€™t have a woman review this when making this new range. It could have been so much better.

Can be difficult installation on a slab

Billy Bob 2/4/2026

The installation can be difficult. Our old Jenn Air stove had vent location in our slab that was several inches away from where our new JES1750 Jenn Air vent location is located. This required jackhamering the slab to establish a new location and the prevent kinking of the 5" (not 6" as in the old vent) duct and pouring cement around the new location. In addition, the previous reviews are spot on-it is impossible to clean around the displays without turning on/off/changing some setting due to their sensitivity to light touch and accidental changes to functions/settings are quite easily done unnoticed. We have also noticed that the oven baking temperatures are diffferent than our old stove (and other stoves we have used in the past) in that it now takes longer to bake food by 15 to 30 minutes.

Very disappointed

jamie2 1/27/2026

This is my third Jenn air range. I have this one a bit over 2 years. I am very disappointed with it's performance. The stove is slow to heat, the oven is slow to heat, the oven has uneven heating in plain and convection mode and the "self-cleaning" oven feature doesn't work worth a darn. The good news is that it looks good and the fan works. I was expecting at least a repeat of my 1992 model. Oh, did i mention that the bottom panel keeps falling off.

Sean Pappy P 1/3/2026

This is our second Jen Air 30 inch electric range. I wish there was a way to turn off the button controls for cleaning. I wish there was a preheat for the air fryer. I like the meat probe option on my older model and I also miss the proof setting, I don't think I ever got an owners manual that explains all the features available on my current model

Nice But Not Great or Worth the High Price Point

Bella Donna 12/29/2025

I purchased a Jennair Rise 30™€ Electric Downdraft to replace a my trustworthy 35 year old Thermador downdraft. The cooktop is great. The oven and the broiler not so great, other than it is spacious. The oven bake function takes forever to reach the desired temperature and does not hold the desired temp. The broiler takes forever to heat™€¦..a minimum of 2 minutes to just start heating.. Another big issue is the sensitivity of the control panel. The slightest movement, turns on functions you don™€™t want™€¦This happens everytime I wipe down the cook top and the cook dials. It has a nice look and it was professionally installed by a certified Jennair installer. Additionally, the print sheet instructions that come with the product is essentially worthless. You have to all the company and request the instructions™€¦a 22 page PDF. I bought this stove based on the good Jennair name reputation. So far, I am less than impressed. Oh, and good luck getting a customer service agent™€¦.long wait time. And, they do not provide trouble shooting help™€¦.they basically just find their approved service company in ™€œyour area™€ and schedule an appointment. And, they sent the PDF owner™€™s manual.

Disappointed: No owner™€™s manual.

Big fish 12/27/2025

Like pull out shelf in oven. Disappointed with(1)No owners/instruction manual provided. (2)No provision to cover gap between stove and cutout in island(old stove had lip at top that extended over gap). (3)Downdraft must be manually activated(came on automatically with old Jenn-Air). (4)Touchpad controls are too sensitive and in poor location to accidentally activate. Otherwise pleased with operation and features.

Loving this high quality stove that looks great!

Vanessa the Cat Lady 12/16/2025

We replaced a downdraft gas oven with this electric one. There are not many electric downdraft stoves on the market, so I was "forced" to choose between this model the one other available in my area. Luckily, this stove looked great on the website, and looks great in our kitchen. Having only had it a couple of months, I can't speak to longevity, but the handles, knobs, interior, and stove top all seem to be high quality in function and feel. The downdraft is working well. I also love the slide-out rack. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Way bigger than the last Jenn-Air

TMary 12/14/2025

I built my kitchen 15 yrs ago around the Jenn-Air. It fit like a glove. But this new one is way bigger. It slid in tight, but it hangs out over 3 inches more than the old one. I cannot open a side drawer because of the extra length. I feel like a child cooking on it because of the size. Also, I am forever hitting the buttons for the oven. They are so sensitive that buzzards are forever going off. Then you have to figure out what button got hit cause if you hit cancel, the whole oven goes off. It would be nice if a shield were to be built in to cover it. I do like air circulating heat. Takes time to get use to it.

Generally, a nice range.

Debbiesh22 12/9/2025

Like the burner layout, but always trying to keep them clean. Have to scrape food off with a razor blade. Knobs are each a little different and a little hard to turn. Hard to clean around the knobs and it always turns on the fan when cleaning. I know there is a lockout, but have to press a few buttons. Generally happy with it. Also, the downdraft grate™€™s paint is coming off after about 3 months of use.

Nothing like my 25 yr old previous JenAir

Jeanita Strang 12/2/2025

I am extremely disappointed in my new JenAir Electric Downdraft Range. It is nothing like my "dead" 25 yr old Jen Air. I prefer coil burners rather than the glass top. I liked the cartridge coil inserts. I was able to have a griddle which I used almost daily. I was able to can on my old stove. Canning is not recommended on glass top stoves. I find the controls very sensitive. I am only 5 feet tall. When I lean or reach toward the back of the stove, I occasionally seem to accidentally turn something on. I watch very carefully to avoid this. My old oven would actually heat as low as 100 degrees. I could use it in breadmaking as a proofing oven. The new stove only goes as low as 170 degrees!!! It seems to be that between government regulations and people not truly baking and cooking as in the past, no one wants a functional stove. I paid $4600 for the stove and the store cannot furnish a starter cleaning kit for the glass top. I don't even know where to order one I have a land line as I do not get cell phone service where we live. How do I watch the "how-to videos" the quick guide way are available? I realize no one makes what I want ANYMORE. I am 81 and still do a lot of baking and cooking.

We bought this oven when looking for a downdraft style to replace our old Jenn Air Range. It came in time for thanksgiving and it performed well! Our only complaint is that it doesn™€™t come in other colors. We Would have loved a matte black rather than stainless steel. It will be a learning curve to have the touch screen as when I wipe down to clean it pushes all the buttons! Ha!

Happy Xmas 11/29/2025

I do like this stove and it works well. However the oven handle is so large it blocks my kitchen drawer. Also the touch screen is so sensitive that when my hand brushes it, it turns something on. It was supposed to fit where my old Jenn-Air went but is slightly bigger and hence sticks out more.

Beautiful range ,,, but™€¦.

Donna25 11/28/2025

This is my third JennAir slide in range. Basically the third over a period of 20 years. The first one was in the house when I bought it, second one I was the replacement. , that one lasted 18 years, now I™€™m on my third JennAir . So I am able to compare pros and cons as time has gone on. My current machine is beautiful! I do love the look of it and the aesthetics . It cooks nicely and I feel I have had good results with even temperatures. I like the racks, the sliding rack, especially wonderful! I bought it because I wanted a downdraft and the downdraft does not disappoint. The light is nice and bright in the oven. Here are my Issues with the range. 1. the location of the dials and the electronic keypad aree not great. I am on the short side and when I lean over to the back of the range, I™€™m always making the keypad beep and causing problems with settings. 2. Also, the location of the dials just causes splatter and spills to hit all those knobs and the electronic keypad. The previous range had them on an angle or in front and not on top much much much better. 3. My previous range had two timers, which I miss and I really liked. 4. I like the design of my last range because it had the glass that slid over the edge of the countertop which really made it look integrated into the kitchen. 5. The thing I really really really dislike about this range, is that over Thanksgiving, I spilled something on the bottom of the range. I followed directions on aqua clean, and it did not work. It did not work at all. I ran the cycle twice. I ended up getting down on my knees and having to actually scrub it with non abrasive cleaner . I am not sure if you actually tested this problem, but I cannot see how a little bit of water on the bottom of a range is going to clean the entire oven if I have an issue. I don™€™t understand why this was changed and I™€™m not happy with it since I will probably have this range for the next 20 years. 6. The owner™€™s manual that came with the range, is incomplete, and I had to go online and try to find the right information to even learn how to use most of the controls on the keypad and on that oven. It should™€™ve been in the owners manual I shouldn™€™t have had to go search for it. Because in the end , you don™€™t know what you don™€™t know,,, 7. One more thing, it would be nice if you included samples of the cleanser that is suggested in the owners manual , that used to be standard in all appliances. For a range that cost me almost $900 to have it installed. Of course $4100 for the range. I would say I™€™m not 100% thrilled with this new model. I ended up having to get a contractor to get the downdraft relocated because the last two ranges had two different places where the downdraft exited from under the range. It was not an easy process. But it is installed now! I hope I get used to it.

Couldn™€™t be more disappointed

Discouragedinmontana 11/26/2025

I bought this range October 20, 2025. It was delivered and partially installed November 5. Downdraft venting had to wait. Components for operation defective and range not operating. Repairman came November 25 and ordered parts. Parts should be here in a week or so, and then we are to call for installing. Have to wait until repairs are installed before scheduling a separate installer to vent the range. We haven™€™t had a functioning stove for well over a month. Holidays are a nightmare with all the guests and no stove. I™€™m trying to be thankful and do my best to navigate this ongoing stove saga, but it has been extremely difficult! Paid over $4,000 cash plus over $900 for delivery and install. Not working. Isn™€™t installed. Now it™€™s Thanksgiving™€¦

Disgruntled buyer!

MaBK 11/23/2025

I bought this late Spring. It didn't come for 3 months. When it did, it had a 4 pronged plug which the dealer did not know and my former same stove had a 3 pronged plug. Big cost and rigamarole to get it installed a month later. (4 months from order!) I had this same model stove for 19 years. This is NOT the same. First of all, it is much larger and sticks out 5" from the counter top. UGLY! But, that is the least of the problems. In the first week, the downdraft grate was damaged when I moved a pot to another burner and apparently slid party over the grid. It is now damaged and looks awful. Here are the things that show that this was designed by someone who DID NOT COOK! -There are ridges in front and around the grid and around vents in the back that get splashed and need to be cleaned every use...sometimes with a toothpick. -The cooktop is NOT the same material as my former top, and it is VERY HARD to clean. I bought the recommended cleaner, but it still needs A LOT oF SCRAPING and polishing to look clean. My former same model cleaned easily as does the glass cooktop in my winter home. I am a good glass top cleaner!!!! -Placing the controls on the top of the cooktop may be better for child safely, but they get really dirty and are EXTREMELY HARD to keep clean. -Very, very annoying is the control panel. OMG! Besides getting splattered with food, it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Wiping it turns on all the various choices. The timer, the downdraft, the oven or confection oven buzz and beep with a light wipe. It is VERY ANNOYING! Suffice it to say that the top, even after minutes of careful wiping, is NEVER CLEAN! -The clock is another annoying issue. Placing it on top of the control board makes it impossible to see from the room unless you are standing directly on top of the stove. Bad planning. -THE OVEN does not work at all for Air Frying. It takes as long as the regular oven and then only cooks one side. The regular oven .....OMG....I baked a cake. It is a 1:15 minute cake. I checked it to take it out and it was still batter inside. It took another 1 1/2 hr. to maybe be done on the inside. The outside was "crunchy"!! -Cleaning the oven....the steam clean DOESN'T CLEAN! A burned on spot...no way to get it clean without crawling in and scrubbing. I DO NOT WANT TO CRAWL IN AND TRY TO CLEAN. I WANT A SELF CLEANING OVEN!! -I am not sure what to do about the temperature of the oven. It is obviously not right for baking (I've tried several different types of baked goods). The instructions say not to measure the temperature with an oven thermometer as temperatures vary. Huh? So how does one know what temp set it at? The thermometer is almost the right degree, but not really as everything takes longer. -Not to forget the oven racks: They are already very tarnished after just a few bakings. I cannot get the yellow stuff off even with a lot of scrubbing. What is that all about? Overall, I HATE this product. If I didn't have to have a downdraft, I would NEVER have kept it. However, I have no other choice. The down draft does work really well. I think that is the ONLY positive about this very poor product.

beautiful range

stardi69 11/20/2025

beautiful jenn air range replacing my 20+ year old jenn air. Have had it one month - still learning about the features. Learned that a 30" range in the 1980's (29 3/4)was smaller than a 30' range today ( 30 1/4) had to move cabinets and change electrical service for the install. Range has top touch controls which my cats keep turning on - had to cover

Only Downdraft Stove We Considered & It's Worth It

The Outlaws 11/15/2025

We would never pay this much for a stove if we didn't need the downdraft. We are happy we did, though. It's a great stove. Very upscale, modern, and functional. We will, hopefully, age out with this stove, and we were happy to find it.

Jenn-aire Electric Downdraft Range

Amy B. 11/7/2025

I have had the range for about two weeks. From this early vantage, I can report that the oven and its features are great, and the ability to somewhat customize burner uses to particular purposes has been helpful. I really dislike the control panel being on top. It's all too easy to casually bump functions into action when using cupboards above the range. I HATE having the clock display on the top, rather than forward-facing. And I dislike stainless steel. I tried to hold out for Jenn-air to resume making a model in white, but couldn't wait for that eventuality. My previous Jenn-air lasted close to thirty years. Well-made appliances are worth the extra money,

JenAir Stove/Range

Tater25 11/4/2025

Purchased this appliance after my original purchase threw in the towel after 25 years! Love it! The new oven/range is very attractive however the edges and handle on the oven are very sharp and have cut a couple of family members. We know to watch for this now and overall are very pleased.

Some backsliding

DV11 9/28/2025

This is our third JennAir over several decades. There are new features that we like: the larger oven and self-cleaning method, in particular. But in several ways, we find the new model a disappointment: the oven takes too long to preheat (the older model had a rapid preheat setting), there's just one timer (we often used the two timers in the past), and the top controls, with their big knobs, require frequent cleaning and sometimes make it harder to maneuver pots and pans.

No one would install this range!

Regretful 9/27/2025

WARNING! First, We bought this range to replace a Jenn Air electric downdraft slide in range that was put in our house when we built 16-years ago. I live in Lincoln Nebraska, and I could not find ANYONE to install it. NFM where we purchased it wouldn™€™t install, AND they wouldn™€™t give me any names to call except Jenn Air. I called Jenn Air and they said there weren™€™t any installers in our area (what?) but gave me 2 names of businesses that service Jenn Air appliances. I called those names. One said they don™€™t install, and the other said they don™€™t install and have no idea how Jenn Air got their name. Then I called several local businesses that sell Jenn Air appliances, and none of them install. I called several electricians and HVAC technicians and none of them would even come look at it. I emailed Jenn Air and asked for them to give me the name of the nearest installer (I™€™m thinking, Omaha, Kansas City?), and they emailed me back congratulating me on my new appliance (seriously?!?) and informed me I could check on their website and call the area Jenn Air retailers and try asking them. Finally, I called the contractor who built our home 16 years ago and asked if he had any suggestions. He called in favors with an electrician and HVAC tech. to come look at it, and they eventually installed it. God bless them! Second, I was honestly going to install this myself after getting the door slammed in my face so many times. I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video. But in looking at it closer, our current blower/vent hole and duct in the floor wasn™€™t in the designated area for the location of the hole for the new replacement range. So frustrating! Why design and make a new model that doesn™€™t use the same vent/duct location?!? I can see why no one wanted to install its what a pain in the A$$. Third, they changed the location of the knobs and display to now be on the top surface of the oven. So now the knobs and display get dirty so easily and when you wipe it, you end up pressing all of the buttons, turning on the fan, oven light, or possibly the oven not-so annoying! So am I a fan? No. Unfortunately sticking with a downdraft was our only option due to how our kitchen was built™€"now a huge regret!

Do Not Buy this Product!

MaBK 9/18/2025

I have had a horrible experience with this 30" Electric Downdraft. There were only two dealers in my area, and I believe I chose the wrong one! I told the sales person that I needed to replace my JennAire downdraft oven and wanted the same oven. HA! I ordered it sight unseen, as I was told it was the same oven. I ordered it 5/2/25. It came in more than 2 months later! That was the first problem. Then, when it was to be installed, it could not be as there was a 4-pronged plug and my former Jenn Air 30" electric down draft, purchased in 2006. had a 3 pronged plug. My salesman should have known this. The installers were unaware of the difference, and two "specialists" were sent by the dealer, at a cost of $336, to figure out how to get a 4 pronged wire and plug installed. More weeks of delays. Finally, installation was possible. The installers were great. They installed the new plug and slid the stove in the slot! Then, oh my, this is not the same stove. It is 5" deeper than the old one. So, now it sticks out a full 5" into the kitchen, and it looks awful. All that aside, if it was not "designed by a person who never cooked", I might not be so unhappy. But, it is NOT easy to use. First, the steam cleaning is a joke. I can send you a picture. I need to get on my hands and knees to clean what is left in the pan, and it takes real work. I had to find a video on how to remove the top rack, as I couldn't get it out no matter what I tried! The air fryer is a joke. It does not air fry...just regular convection cooks. And, the stove top is almost impossible to clean. I ordered your recommended cleaning product, but it is useless. My old stovetop cleaned easily with a spray of Windex. This does not clean. If something boils over a bit, I need to scrape and scrub, and it still is not clean. Also, to just wipe up after dinner, the design is ridiculous. The controls, on top, and the touch plate are very difficult. The fan ALWAYS goes on with a slight swipe of the rag, as do other features, which must be then turned off! The controls take a lot of work just to wipe clean. ( My cleaning people agree that it is very hard to clean.) Furthermore, the vent at the back gets spattered, and it is difficult to get inside to clean. The clock, on my old Jenn-Air, was on the front of the oven, which made it easy to read. This location on top of the control panel makes the clock impossible to see unless I am standing directly in front of the stove. Also, the timer "ding" is faint. If I am not standing right by the stove, it faintly "dings" once and no more. Annoying! All in all, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Furthermore, if I could return this product, I would! And, all I received with it was a thin flyer with instructions for the air fryer and a mesh basket. No instructions for anything else. No broiler pan, no Welcome to Jenn-Aire brochure. Zip. I did not want to go to the internet to try to find "how to use" instructions! I want them given to me for reference. I paid a lot for this appliance. Certainly, you could afford a brochure with instructions! The dealership was unhelpful and didn't seem to care once they sold me the product. Hopefully, I will never need to buy another stove in my lifetime! Thank you for at least asking!

Wonderful upgrade from my old Jennair

AndyK 8/21/2025

We have owned this range for two months, and am very pleased. The downdraft feature it's much more powerful than our old Jennaire. Another key improvement is the efficiency of the the burners. They heat up much faster and cool down much faster. This makes cooking a lot easier. The touchpad is much easier to use and more intuitive than the older model. I haven't used some of the other features yet, but the cooktop alone improvements make the purchase very worthwhile.

Not loving it yet

CAfushia6955 8/21/2025

Although I waited 8 weeks for the arrival of my new JennAir, a week later, I'm still waiting for it to work properly. Today a repair man was here due to a fan and oven misconnection that allowed it to run for way too long after it shut off. And, I also found out that the control panel on the top of the stove is loose on the left side. I'll be seeing the repair man and his friend next week, too. I hope they will fix both problems.

Perfect Replacement

Falcon245 8/16/2025

We bought this unit to replace our 37 year old JennAir downdraft cook top and wall oven. The cook top was in our island so we have modified the island to accept the slide-in range. So far so good. the cooktop and oven heat up muck quicker that expected which we had to get use to but it is very nice. The down draft seems to be more effective as well.

Very happy with the new downdraft range. Amazing how far they have come in 30 years. Replaced 30 year old Jenn Aire. Only problem was the 2-3 months waiting period for the range to supplied to store I purchased it from. What was the problem??? Demand can™€™t be that great. They were unavailable nationwide. My Cookie Queen

Madi 7/29/2025

I purchased this two weeks ago, but waited 4 months for delivery. It was definitely worth the wait. My oven sits beautifully in an island with no hanging vent hood to obstruct the view. The downdraft works perfectly in getting rid of odors and steam. I love the features of a built in air fryer, convection oven, and standard oven. The cook top cooks food evenly and easily cleaned up! This was the best investment I made to my kitchen!

Fancy, sleek, and it works!

ColeMo 7/29/2025

After almost 4 months to the day of not having an oven/range, I was beyond thrilled to receive this purchase. I'm still getting use to the layout and keep accidentally turning on buttons when I wipe it down. The rear filler piece I purchased separately doesn't work (counter is rounded, the piece has blunt ends) so I wish a filler (fill in the space between counter and oven) piece just came with the oven purchase. I love how quickly the range heats up and I'm still learning how to best utilize the oven.
